VTF Famtrip 2024: Journey Home - Discovering Autumn in Tay Do

On September 7-8, 2024, VTF Famtrip 2024 with the theme "Journey Home - Discovering Autumn in the Western Capital" attracted nearly 90 members of the Vietnam Tourism Forum (VTF). The event was held under the special sponsorship of Bao Gia Trang Vien - The Green Resort and Bao Gia Farm Camping (members of Hai Au Can Tho).

This is a series of interesting activities to introduce the highlights of Bao Gia Trang Vien in terms of services and products to travel agencies nationwide, especially introducing the indigenous culture of the Southern region to friends in other regions through typical tourism products with the unique style of Hai Au Can Tho.

The program was inspired by the Southern region with the autumn weather, the time when everyone eagerly awaits to reunite, return to their families, return to their neighbors to celebrate the New Year together. From that inspiration, Hai Au Can Tho invited all members of the VTF delegation to transform into people of Thuong Thanh, Cai Rang - children living far away from home. When returning to their hometown on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, they enjoyed delicious hometown dishes by making banh xeo, banh khot,... by hand, then ate and drank together, this was also a moment for all members to reminisce about the past.

After lunch, the members of Thuong Thanh hamlet reviewed the custom of "worshiping the land" to commemorate the ancestors who opened the land, as well as to remember the origin of their ancestors and clans. Through the special lottery tickets, the members of Thuong Thanh hamlet will be divided into four different groups representing the four ethnic groups present in the West. After dividing into teams, the teams will begin their journey to experience indigenous cultural values ​​through a team building called "Men Det Oi".

"Men Det Oi" will be divided into two joints, the first joint is called "Xom Minh Thuong Nhau", at the first joint, the group members will go through different challenge stations such as "Landlord dividing land", "Going to the market", "Intelligence quiz", "Rowling baskets to collect water hyacinth", "Robbing coconut leaves",... to find enough materials to prepare for the Mid-Autumn Festival night. At the second joint called "Xom Minh Kheo Tay", after harvesting enough materials, the groups will start to decorate their houses together, and at the same time move to the houses of artisans in the village to learn how to tie decorative coconut leaves, make banh go and star lanterns.

At "Reunion Night", families will gather together to enjoy a reunion meal with dishes typical of the Western region. After finishing the meal, families will gather in a large yard to chat together, and during that chat, everyone will review the songs - the melodies that once nurtured the souls of many children of this Thuong Thanh garden land. That is the lullaby of the mother, the call of the sister, or the cheerful but sometimes heartbreaking melody of the expatriate, and finally the fun Lotto show.

Through the team building "Men Det Oi" and "Reunion Night", Hai Au Can Tho has integrated the indigenous values ​​of the Southern land, while introducing the proud intangible cultural heritage values ​​of Can Tho in particular and the Mekong Delta in general.
